Within the scope of 'From East to the West to a Fair World’ "12th International Student Meeting" organized by the International Students Organizations Federation (UDEF) in which Anadolu News Agency (AA) is a Global Communication Partner, International students gathered in Istanbul.

Speaking at the opening of the event hosted by Istanbul Gelisim University, Istanbul Gelisim University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdulkadir Gayretli, said that it was a great feeling to be in unity, togetherness, and solidarity between cultures.

Gayretli stating that the event is important in terms of students to know the cultures of other countries, to communicate and to guide each other, continued as follows:

“As UDEF, Gelişim University and other organizations that have contributed to the event, we would like to set an example by carrying out the next works in unity and solidarity. In particular, our students will learn both Turkish and improve their English and also provide added value to their country. Students will contribute to the economies of their countries by taking what they have learned here. Because it's a culture exchange. Our future depends on us. If we are active and successful, if we are idealists and our goals are always big, our country will always be big, expand and reach its peak in economic terms.”

UDEF Vice President Fatih Evran, told that they serve international students for 14 years.

Evran said that International Student Meeting organized with the theme of 'From East to the West to a Fair World' was held to promote the international students' culture. The final of the meeting will be held in Istanbul on May 5th. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to attend the event.

At the event, students from 91 cities of 51 countries presented the history, culture, geography, traditions, regional dishes and dances of their countries.

The event, which was organized by UDEF and started on 1 February, will continue until May 4th in 19 countries. The event aims to engain students and guests from foreign countries who came to Turkey to get a university education experience and skills in many areas.
