A Visit from Iraq’s University of Hilla to Istanbul Gelisim University!

In line with its vision of internationalization, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) continues to strengthen its ties with higher education institutions abroad. As part of this effort, the President of Iraq’s University of Hilla, Dr. Aqeel Al-Saadi, along with his delegation, visited Istanbul Gelisim University. During the meetings, significant steps were taken to enhance academic cooperation between the two universities.

University Presidents and Academic Delegations Come Together

The meeting was attended by IGU President Prof. Bahri Şahin, Vice Rectors Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı and Prof. Nuri Kuruoğlu, as well as the Director of International Students Office, Umedjon Haitmurodov. Following the meeting, a campus tour was organized for the visiting delegation.

Aiming for Cross-Border Collaboration in Education

Throughout the visit, key topics such as student and faculty exchange programs, dual degree initiatives, joint research projects, and broader academic collaborations were discussed. Emphasis was placed on a shared vision in fields such as dentistry, health sciences, engineering, artificial intelligence, technology, and social sciences, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.

An Academic Bridge Between Two Countries

It was highlighted that this meaningful visit has the potential to further advance higher education relations between Türkiye and Iraq. Both universities agreed to maintain their collaboration with the aim of supporting scientific production through joint projects and providing a higher quality educational environment for students.
