Asia’s Successful Rover Team at IGU TTO: Strategic Engagement on Drone Technologies
On July 29, 2025, Istanbul Gelisim University Technology Transfer Office (IGU TTO) hosted a delegation of 11 students from United International University (UIU), Bangladesh. The team, led by Prof. Hasan Sarwar, visited Türkiye to participate in the Anadolu Rover Challenge in Ankara and identified IGU as a priority stop during their visit to Istanbul.
Introducing the University's International Vision
The visit began with a welcome from Alisa Usubova, Coordinator of IGU’s Office for International Exchange and Cooperation, and IECO Specialist Mehmet Emir Çetinberk. The UIU students were presented with a comprehensive overview of IGU’s internationalization strategy, exchange programs, and global partnerships. Following the presentation, a campus tour was held, showcasing the university's academic and technological infrastructure.
Technical Exchange on Technology Transfer and Drone Projects
In the second part of the program, a technical visit and session were hosted by IGU TTO Director Yahya Kemal Kıran. During the meeting, the team was briefed on drone projects developed within the TTO, including lab applications and R&D processes. Ongoing drone projects were also demonstrated.
IGU’s policies on technology transfer, entrepreneurship support mechanisms, and approaches to project partnerships were shared with the visiting students.
A Visit that Opens Doors to New Collaborations
The visit not only reinforced Istanbul Gelisim University’s connections within international technology networks but also paved the way for potential collaborations with UIU, particularly in drone technologies and related fields. IGU TTO’s open innovation vision and solution-oriented academic-interface model continue to serve as an effective bridge in engagements with global student groups.
