Brother Countries: Broadcasting and Education Support from IGU to Uzbekistan
The two brother countries, which are at the heart of the Turkish world, continue to deepen their cooperation in the field of education and culture between Turkey and Uzbekistan. Representatives of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) paid an official visit to Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two universities. The visit was an important development that contributed to the deepening of relations based on common history, deep-rooted ties and mutual trust in the field of higher education.
On behalf of Istanbul Gelisim University, Head of Corporate Communication and Promotion Department Asst. Prof. Bülent Deyirmenci, Department of Political Science and Public Administration Prof. Şenol Durgun and University Coordinator Hasan Umarov took part in the visit. Uzbekistan State World Languages University Rector Prof. Ilhomjon Tukhtasinov, as well as Vice Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of International Cooperation Department Kh. Yuldoshev, Second Head of Foreign Languages Department Yuldoshev and Turkish teacher Z. Komilova also participated.

Publication support to Turkish Language Teaching Center
One of the prominent topics of the visit was the publication support to be provided by Istanbul Gelisim University to the Turkish Teaching Center within the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. In this context, IGU aims to enrich the resource pool of the center with books, academic publications and cultural contents that can be used in language teaching.
This step is expected to facilitate access to up-to-date and qualified materials for students learning Turkish in Uzbekistan. At the same time, it is aimed to contribute to Turkey's language diplomacy studies.
Memorandum of Cooperation was signed
At the end of the meeting, a cooperation protocol was signed between the parties in line with mutual understanding. With the protocol, the basis for cooperation on joint scientific studies, advanced education courses and international projects, as well as student, faculty and researcher exchange programs, has been formalized.

Permanent and versatile academic solidarity is aimed
During the negotiations, which continued in a friendly environment throughout the meeting, the parties agreed on the joint development and implementation of various international projects, particularly Erasmus+ programs. In addition, a common will was declared to assign Turkish teachers to Uzbek universities and to establish long-term cooperation between the two universities.
With this visit, a concrete step was taken to strengthen the place of Turkish among the world languages in line with the internationalization vision of Istanbul Gelisim University.
