Head and Neck Cancer seminar held

Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Vocational School of Health Services, Health Organizations Management program organized an event titled “Seminar on Head and Neck Cancers”. Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) Diseases and Neck Surgery Specialist Assoc. Dr. Murat Ulusan and ENT Diseases Specialist Prof. Dr. Serkan Orhan participated as a speaker.

Speakers stated that the frequency of occurrence of the head and neck cancers, with 6th place in the World, and 5% of deaths worldwide caused by cancer. Assoc. Dr. Murat Ulusan stressed that the most common cancer seen in Turkey is the larynx, and emphasized the risk factors.

Speakers gave informations about head and neck cancers, their symptoms, treatment methods, effects of smoking in cancer, meniere disease, bionic ear, post-operative life conditions in ENT, and answered the students' questions.

At the end of the seminar organized by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Nizamlıoğlu, Lect. Ebru Cengiz, Lect. Mehmet Çitekçi, and Lect. Halil Türktemiz, the speakers were presented plaques of appreciation by Lect. Ebru Cengiz.
