Istanbul Gelisim University is organizing the "High Schools Short Film Competition", in which high school students throughout Türkiye can participate. Students will be able to apply until May 3 with a short film they shot about one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, based on the main theme of the competition, "Sustainability".
Istanbul Gelisim University, which attaches great significance to sustainability studies in every field, particularly environmental sustainability, by adopting the "Sustainable Development Goals", is preparing to add a new one to the sustainability studies it carries out sensitively on both national and international platforms. In the "High Schools Short Film Competition" project prepared for high school students, students will be able to apply with a short film they shot about one of the Sustainability Development Goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a global call to action. The 17 headings are as follows: No Poverty, No Hunger, Health and Quality Life, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Accessible and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reducing Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Societies, Responsible Production and Consumption, Climate Action, Life Above Water, Life on Land, Peace Justice and Strong Institutions, Partners for the Goals.
It is aimed to increase the awareness of high school students
The High Schools Short Film Competition, which will be held in order to increase the solutions produced by prospective students and the resulting awareness, aims to prevent an uncertain future. IGU is known as a student-friendly university with its projects that help young people, especially university candidates, get to know the environment and the world they live in and act responsibly. The project director of the competition is Lect. Ahmet Bikiç, a documentary film director with many national and international awards in his field and Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts. The competition organizing committee of the project, supported by Istanbul Gelisim University Board of Trustees Chairman Abdulkadir Gayretli and Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, includes Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, and Head of Corporate Communications and Promotion Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Bülent Deyirmenci. The project is carried out by the Public Relations and Promotion Directorate.
The application deadline is May 3!
Students who want to apply will be able to send their short films on the website iguliselerarasikisafilmyarismasi.edu.tr until May 3, 2024. At the ceremony to be held at Istanbul Gelisim University on May 20, the authors of the works that made it to the finals of the competition will receive their awards from the leading names of the industry.
