Historical Success from Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club!

Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club once again made a name for itself with its success in underwater sports. The outstanding performance of the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) in the Turkish Fishing Club Championship and National Team Draft held in Aydın Didim Güllük Bay between 9-11 May 2025 revealed the level of university sports. While the Women's Team became the Turkish Champion by surpassing all its competitors, the Men's Team achieved the title of Turkey Second.

Double victory on the way to the National Team

In addition to team achievements, the grades obtained in the individual categories of women and men showed that Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club stood out with its individual athlete development. Ebru Karabulut in women's individual and İbrahim Şakar in men's individual became the Turkish Champion, surpassing all rivals. Both athletes were entitled to be elected to the National Team Candidate Squad with these superior performances. This double victory was a tangible indication of the club's understanding of talent-oriented athlete training. Ebru Karabulut, Sibel Bircan Kurağı, Elçin Güner, Aşkın Banu Tuğlu took part in the women's team, while İbrahim Şakar, Ali İbrahimiye, Rojhat Basut, Gökay Gülhep represented the university in the men's team.

The organization, which took place with the participation of 24 clubs and 27 teams from 11 provinces in total, offered one of the most important competitive environments in underwater sports throughout the country. Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club not only achieved a degree, but also attracted attention with its combat discipline, athlete ethics and team spirit.
