A "Fighting Addiction" seminar was delivered by Asst. Prof. Bülent Tansel from the Psychology Department of IGU's Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences (FEASS) at the "Early Protective Work Program on Behavioral Addiction" event organized as part of the Mardin Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PDR) Days.
The Importance of Early Intervention in Behavioral Addictions Addressed
At the seminar, the effects of technology, social media, gaming, and digital platform use on individuals were assessed, while attention was drawn to the importance of recognizing behavioral addictions at an early stage. Information was shared with participants on the psychological dimensions of addiction, methods of protection, and processes for developing healthy behavior.
At the event, which reflects İstanbul Gelişim University's scientific approach, the goal was particularly to raise awareness among young individuals about addiction risks. Asst. Prof. Bülent Tansel emphasized that early protective work generates important gains both individually and socially.
