ILETFEST2 at IGU: “Communication and Sustainability: Lighting the Future!”

Istanbul Gelisim University’s Faculty of Applied Sciences, through its three communication departments—Public Relations and Advertising, Television Journalism and Programming, and New Media and Communication—will host the “Applied Communication Festival-2” (ILETFEST2) from May 21–24, 2024.

The 2024 theme of the festival is “Communication and Sustainability: Lighting the Future!” Organized by IGU’s Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Applied Communication Festival aims to bring together students, academics, and industry experts to explore the latest developments in various fields of communication. The festival will feature a wide range of activities in core areas of communication such as cinema, journalism, advertising, public relations, and new media, including panels, workshops, talks, exhibitions, and film screenings. With its “applied” focus, the festival will pioneer in providing students with not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills through hands-on workshops.

Following the success of the first festival, which received great interest and was highly beneficial for students’ career development, ILETFEST2 will focus on “Communication and Sustainability.” The festival will demonstrate how the communication profession interacts with emerging technologies and content, emphasizing the role of sustainability in the field. To help students understand how communication can contribute to a better future, ILETFEST2 will include events aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

ILETFEST2 will also foster university-industry collaborations by bringing together professionals, students, and academics to discuss current topics in communication. Additionally, it aims to provide a platform where students pursuing careers in communication can connect with industry professionals, creating opportunities for future collaborations.
