“Innovation and Technology Conference” Held at Istanbul Gelisim University with Participation of Yemeni Delegation
As part of its vision to strengthen international academic collaborations, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) hosted the “Innovation and Technology Conference.” The event was attended by prominent guests including IGU Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdulkadir Gayretli, Yemen’s Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Alwisabi, and the Ambassador of Yemen in Ankara, Mohamed Saleh Ahmed Tariq.
Official Visit Before the Conference
Prior to the conference, the Yemeni delegation paid an official visit to Abdulkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IGU. During the meeting, topics such as enhancing educational relations between the two countries, providing more academic opportunities for Yemeni students, and strengthening cultural ties through joint projects were discussed.
The visit was also attended by IGU International Students Office Director, Umedjon Haitmurodov. In his speech, Chairman Abdulkadir Gayretli emphasized: “These collaborations not only provide our students with academic knowledge but also broaden their perspectives by exposing them to different cultures. We are committed to mobilizing all our resources to ensure the development of the 427 Yemeni students studying at our university, as well as all other international students.”
Yemen’s Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Khalid Alwisabi, stated that Istanbul Gelisim University is officially recognized by the Yemeni Ministry of Higher Education, and expressed his satisfaction with the academic experiences of Yemeni students at IGU. He highlighted the importance of joint projects to expand educational opportunities and deepen academic ties between the two nations.
Innovation and Technology Conference
Following the official visit, Board of Trustees Chairman Abdulkadir Gayretli and Minister Dr. Khalid Alwisabi attended the “Innovation and Technology Conference,” organized by the Yemen Friendship and Solidarity Association.
The main goal of the conference was defined as promoting innovative ideas in the fields of science, technology, and arts; organizing competitions and projects for talented students to build a strong student foundation; and enabling these students to acquire the qualifications needed to contribute to Yemen’s reconstruction. The program also covered skill-development and qualification workshops for students, support mechanisms to transform ideas into successful projects, and discussions on innovative production processes.
A Broadly Attended Event
In addition to Chairman Abdulkadir Gayretli and Minister Dr. Khalid Alwisabi, the conference was attended by Yemen’s Ambassador to Ankara Mohamed Saleh Ahmed Tariq, Media Advisor to the Yemeni Embassy Dr. Tala, Chief of Staff to the Ambassador Dr. Ibrahim Almekhlafi, President of the Yemen Friendship and Solidarity Association Dr. Ahmed Aloqabi and numerous business professionals.
