Scientific Partnership Beyond Borders from IGU: Cooperation with Hilla University!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) continues to strengthen its academic collaborations in line with its vision of internationalization. In this context, a new step was taken and an academic cooperation protocol was signed with Hilla University, one of the leading higher education institutions in Iraq, in the province of Babylon. Istanbul Gelisim University Vice Rector Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı, Head of Public Relations and Promotion Department Asst. Prof. Bülent Deyirmenci, Asst. Prof. Ali Semin and Lecturer Mohammed Abdulqader; Rector Prof. Aqeel Al-Saadi, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Assoc. Prof. Imad Salam Abbu met in Babylon, Iraq.

"We Aim to Establish a Productive Partnership"

The cooperation between Istanbul Gelisim University and Hilla University aims to build an important bridge not only in the academic field but also in the cultural and social sense. In this context, Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı stated that they found a highly developed scientific environment at Hilla University and added, "We aim to establish a fruitful partnership that will increase the quality of higher education on behalf of both countries." The strong academic infrastructure of Hilla University and the innovative approach of Istanbul Gelisim University open the doors to new opportunities for the students and academicians of both institutions.

Multidirectional Approach in Inter-University Cooperation

While this protocol signed between the two universities paves the way for a stronger cooperation towards achieving common goals, it is aimed to deepen cultural interactions by increasing scientific contributions at the global level. In this context, joint activities will be carried out in many areas such as mutual exchange of students and academicians, conducting joint scientific research, organizing conferences and workshops, workshops, and Gelisim Film Academy. Hilla University Rector Prof. Aqeel Al-Saadi said: “We believe in the importance of opening up to world universities. This agreement is an important step taken to provide information exchange and to contribute to the international academic studies of our students and academicians."
Within the scope of the visit, the IGU delegation visited some classrooms and medical laboratories of the university and was informed about their academic studies. At the end of the visit, souvenir gifts were presented mutually to express the depth of scientific and cultural relations between the two institutions.
