Tourism Week celebrated in IGU

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) hosted Levent Şahin, Turkey manager of Le Pain Quotidien, and Rıza Belenkaya, Kitchens Coordinator and Re&De manager of Midpoint, in the event titled ‘Istanbul and GastroTourism’ within the scope of 15-22 April Tourism Week.

In the event, attended by the students of Tourism Guidance, Gastronomy, Cookery departments of Istanbul Gelisim University, and interested in tourism and gastronomy, current problems experienced in tourism were discussed.

In the event where works to be done for Turkey to achieve its 2023 tourism targets were put in the agenda, many topics were discussed such as the role of gastronomy tourism in regional and national development, the value of Istanbul in terms of gastronomy tourism, the importance of taking part in tourism education in the tourism sector, and the steps that need to be taken to be the best chef the best tourist guide.
